The Cambuslang Churches Carol Singers were amazed last Saturday at the generosity of local shoppers.  We had our annual carol sing outside Morrisons superstore.  The intention was simply to wish people a Merry Christmas and publicise our seasonal services.  However, we were surprised to discover a host of shoppers wanting to donate money. One singer remarked “In previous years people have occasionally asked to give, but this year we were shocked at the number of shoppers who wanted to do this.  Children seemed especially keen to give a gift.”   At a time when many complain about the loss of Christmas spirit, it was fantastic to see so many people being so generous.  The Churches plan to give the money they so unexpectedly raised (over £50) to the Church’s work with homeless people.
